Asante Kotoko Head Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has described the upcoming game against Medeama as a massive opportunity for his team to showcase their new look ahead of the 2024-2025 season.
The Porcupine Warriors are set to take on Medeama on August 16 in a preseason game.
According to Ogum, the game will provide a perfect platform for his team to test their new-look squad, which has been assembled with almost all key targets.
“That game presents a huge opportunity because we’ve now assembled a different team with almost all our key targets in now,” Ogum said. “So I think it’s good for us because we will have about two weeks to train and then whatever that we have done to go and exhibit it at Medeama to give us a technical team and as management, a fair idea of these players.”
The game, which will be played at the newly built TNA Venue, is also expected to bring out the best in the players due to the old rivalry between Kotoko and Medeama.
“To me, playing against Medeama in a new stadium, looking at the old rivalry between Kotoko and Medeama at Tarkwa, I think it is going to bring the best out of the players,” Ogum added.
Kotoko finished sixth in last season’s Ghana Premier League standings and have signed 12 players ahead of the new season.
