England winger Eberechi Eze has praised Ghana’s defence after the goalless draw in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The Arsenal attacker was in action for the Three Lions on Tuesday when they faced off with the Black Stars in their second match in Group L.
Although England dominated the contest, they failed to find the back of the net and had to succumb to a frustrating draw at the end of the 90 minutes.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Eze acknowledged the top defensive performance from Ghana, admitting that the clash was very tough.
“We knew we were in control for much of the game, so it was a matter of finding those gaps, those spaces. We managed to do that towards the end of the match, but it was still a tough game because our opponents had a solid defence. Their compact formation made things difficult for us at times. But yes, we’ll keep going,” Eze said.
The result leaves England and Ghana leading Group L with four points each, heading into the final round of group matches.
