Former Ghanaian international, Emmanuel Agyemang Badu, has urged Asante Kotoko fans to reduce the pressure they place on the players to avoid potential failure.
The Porcupine Warriors were held to a goalless draw in their opening BetPawa Premier League match against returnees Heart of Lions at the Baba Yara Stadium, much to the surprise of the fans.
Badu, who previously played for Asante Kotoko before moving abroad, shared his thoughts with Radio Gold Sports.
“These five, six games, its Kotoko jersey they are wearing, some of them are coming from Division One and Division Two”
“We need to understand that we need patience for the guys. If we don’t take patience, one, two, three games, and the results are not coming and we start putting pressure on them, there will be a disaster, we are building, we need patience.” Agyemang Badu told Radio Gold Sports.
Asante Kotoko is scheduled to travel to Dun’s Park in Bibiani to face Gold Stars in their second match of the season on Saturday, September 23.
