Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey has firmly set his sights on the second leg of Arsenal’s UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash against Real Madrid. The Gunners head to Spain in a commanding position, having secured an impressive 3-0 victory in the first leg at the Emirates Stadium.
For Partey, the upcoming fixture marks a return to familiar territory—Madrid—the city where he spent the majority of his career with Real Madrid’s fierce rivals, Atletico Madrid. The experienced midfielder delivered a standout performance in the first leg and carried that momentum into the weekend, finding the net against Brentford in the Premier League.
With confidence running high, Partey believes Arsenal are well-prepared to take on the reigning European champions on their home turf.
“I think we’ve experienced this many times when we play here and I think it’s not going to be something different,” Partey said, referring to Arsenal’s readiness for the high-pressure encounter.
He emphasized the importance of staying composed and focused: “We just have to be confident with the ball and try to play our game.”
Acknowledging the magnitude of the task ahead, Partey added, “We all know what we have to do. We have to go there with the mentality to win. We want to win every game. And I think we have to play our game, be confident with the ball and also try to find our weaknesses and keep attacking them.”
With Partey in form and Arsenal brimming with belief, all eyes will be on the Santiago Bernabéu as the Gunners aim to finish the job and book their place in the semi-finals.
