Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey played a key role in Arsenal’s dramatic late victory over Leicester City, helping the Gunners close the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool.
A late brace from Mikel Merino secured all three points for Mikel Arteta’s side at the King Power Stadium, keeping their title hopes alive.
Partey started the game and played 75 minutes before being substituted for Jorginho, as Arsenal pushed for a strong finish.
The victory puts the London club just four points behind Liverpool, who are set to play Wolverhampton Wanderers on Sunday.
After the match, Partey took to social media to express his thoughts on the team’s performance.
“On days when I’m not at my best, the strength of the team carries us to victory. vamoooosss,” he wrote.
The Ghana international has been a vital part of Arsenal’s squad this season, making 24 Premier League appearances, scoring three goals, and providing two assists.
With just four months left on his current contract, Arsenal are reportedly preparing to offer him a contract extension to keep him at the club longer.
