Thomas Partey, the Ghanaian international, has openly acknowledged that Jorginho has outperformed him in training sessions over the past few weeks.
He has expressed no issues with the Italian midfielder starting ahead of him in recent games for Arsenal.
In discussing the competition between the two midfielders, Partey emphasized that it will only benefit Arsenal and contribute to their improvement.
“I’ve always had competition, which is a positive thing for me. I enjoy it,” Partey stated. “I’m genuinely happy for Jorginho because he has been the best in training for a few weeks, and you can see that reflected in his performance during matches.”
During a pre-match interview ahead of the game against Brighton over the weekend, the influential player further commented, “I’m genuinely pleased for him, and I’m also glad that every player is prepared to step up, keeping everyone on their toes. This healthy competition is good, and I hope all players in that position will be ready to seize their opportunities.”
Partey highlighted the club’s objective of fostering competition, as it not only aids in their growth but also motivates the players to give their best on the field.
The upcoming match between Arsenal and Brighton is scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 14.
