Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey played a pivotal role in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Aston Villa at Villa Park, finding the back of the net to secure the win.
Partey was included in the starting lineup by Mikel Arteta for the clash against Unai Emery’s side. Despite Aston Villa’s efforts to open the scoring, Arsenal’s goalkeeper David Raya made crucial saves to keep the game level at halftime.
The breakthrough came in the 68th minute when substitute Leandro Trossard capitalized on Villa’s missed opportunities. Just two minutes after coming on, Trossard fired a shot past Emi Martinez, putting the Gunners ahead.
Ten minutes later, Partey doubled Arsenal’s lead. After receiving a pass from Bukayo Saka on the edge of the penalty area, Partey calmly slotted the ball into the bottom corner, ensuring Arsenal left Villa Park with all three points.
