Black Stars midfielder Thomas Partey has resumed training with Premier League side Arsenal ahead of this weekend’s fixture against Leeds United.
After being sidelined for Ghana’s match against Angola due to injury, Partey is expected to play for Arsenal against Leeds United on Saturday at the Emirates Stadium.
In the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations [AFCON] qualifications, Ghana and Angola drew 1-1 on Monday in Luanda. The 29-year-old sat out the entire match.
Chris Hughton disclosed following the match that the midfielder had received a slight injury in the first leg of Ghana’s match against Angola at the Baba Yara Stadium.
However, Partey was involved in training with his Arsenal teammates on Thursday morning at London Colney in preparation for the match against Leeds.
It is unknown if Partey will take a last-minute fitness test to demonstrate his availability for the match.
With the Gunners 10 games away from winning the Premier League for the first time since the 2003–2004 season, Thomas Partey has been a crucial part of Arsenal’s run for the championship.
At the top of the standings, Arsenal now leads Manchester City by eight points.
