beIN Sports has unveiled its Best African XI of All Time, a lineup featuring some of the continent’s most iconic footballers across generations. The selection blends defensive solidity, midfield brilliance, and attacking firepower, celebrating the incredible influence African players have had on the global game.

The XI is set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with Bruce Grobbelaar guarding the goal for Zimbabwe. The defensive line includes Achraf Hakimi (Morocco), Kalidou Koulibaly (Senegal), Samuel Kuffour (Ghana), and Kwadwo Asamoah (Ghana), combining pace, strength, and tactical awareness.

In midfield, Ghana’s Michael Essien, Ivory Coast’s Yaya Touré, and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah anchor the engine room, providing a mix of defensive grit, box-to-box power, and creative threat.

The frontline boasts an incredible trio of African forwards: Liberia’s George Weah, Ivory Coast legend Didier Drogba, and Cameroon superstar Samuel Eto’o, all of whom have left indelible marks at club and international level.

beIN Sports also included a list of substitutes reflecting Africa’s footballing pedigree, with players such as Carlos Kameni, Alex Song, Riyad Mahrez, Seydou Keita, Sadio Mané, Kanu Nwankwo, and Yaya Touré among the elite backups.
