It looks obvious that Nico Jackson, 25, will be the third-choice striker for Chelsea in the upcoming season.
The Senegalese forward has enjoyed two years at World Champions, where Mauricio Pochettino and Enzo Maresca trusted him by both making him their number one striker.
Chelsea have, however, signed two strikers, Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, from Brighton & Hove Albion and Ipswich Town, respectively.
Both players were Maresca’s first and second strikers in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup in the USA, where Chelsea won.
Enzo Maresca on Nicholas Jackson’s future at Chelsea
“Nico is okay. When the transfer window is open, unfortunately, or fortunately, anything can happen, so this also involves Nico’s situation at the moment.
“Two new strikers arrived in the USA, Joao and Liam, so we’ll see what happens.”
Chelsea’s manager Maresca said on Thursday, ahead of the club’s first pre-season game of the season on Saturday against Bayer Leverkusen
Bayern and Newcastle to fight for Jackson
Sky Germany has confirmed that Bayern Munich has gathered enough information about Jackson’s status currently and has enquired about him.
Vincent Kompany will be keen to add him to his attack because Jackson can play across all the front positions.
The English side Newcastle United have listed Jackson for a potential transfer since Chelsea completed Pedro’s deal. Eddie Howe’s side have been defeated in the transfer window about many players and will be keen to finally get a striker to replace Isak, whose future is still unclear.
How Chelsea value Jackson
Nicolas Jackson is valued at 80 million euros, and the clubs are confident that a fee of around 50 million euros can convince Chelsea to sell the former Villarreal forward.
