Rangers have pulled the plug on their pursuit of Ghanaian promising star Jesurun Rak-Sakyi who plays for Crystal Palace and he is now weighing up offers from five EFL clubs, Football Insider reports.
Championship duo Cardiff City and Reading, along with League One trio Accrington Stanley, Oxford United and MK Dons, have all registered “concrete” interest in the 19-year-old winger.
A Rangers source disclosed to Football Insider that they held loan talks over a move for Rak-Sakyi when they were also pursuing Amad Diallo from Man United.
But the completion of the Diallo deal on Thursday means the end of the pursuit of the Glasgow giants.
Rak-Sakyi is still expected to seal a move ahead of Monday’s transfer cut-off.
Palace have given the green light to the rising star joining a club where he can develop through regular game time at a senior level.
His priority is believed to be securing a move where playing opportunity and match time are likely.
The youngster, who is capped by England at Under-20 level, made his Palace debut in the Premier League in the opening-day defeat to Chelsea last August.
He has yet to add to that appearance but has made a huge impression for the club’s Under-23s and is regarded as major young talent.
Operating mainly from a left flank role, Rak-Sakyi has scored 11 goals from 16 Premier League 2 matches this season and also supplied three assists.
This led to player-of-the-month nominations in both October and November, and he also has two goals in four matches for England Under-20s.
