Turkish football club Trabzonspor has made a formal offer to sign 23-year-old Ghanaian defender Maxwell Woledzi from Norwegian side Fredrikstad, sources close to the player have revealed.
According to reports, the offer promises a significant improvement in Woledzi’s earnings should he accept the deal. However, Fredrikstad has yet to respond officially to the proposal.
Woledzi, a product of the renowned Right to Dream Academy, joined Fredrikstad on a three-year contract in the summer of 2023, which is set to expire in 2026.
He has made a strong impression since his move, playing a key role in Fredrikstad’s second-tier league title win last season and making 13 appearances in the 2024 Eliteserien this campaign.
The former FC Nordsjaelland and Vitória SC Guimarães II player has also made 28 appearances and scored one goal for the Danish top-flight club between 2020 and 2022.
With his impressive performances at both club and international levels, Woledzi is being eyed by several clubs in Europe, including Trabzonspor, as they look to strengthen their defense.
