Ghana advanced to the final qualification stage of the Africa U-23 Cup of Nations qualifiers after drawing 0-0 with Gabon on Tuesday.
They will thus face Algeria who also eliminated Equatorial Guinea in the final phase of the qualifiers in their bid to qualify for Tokyo 2020 Olympic games.
Coach Ibrahim Tanko’s side went into the return leg encounter in Libreville with a huge advantage after whipping their counterparts 4-0 in the first leg match at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The Black Meteors despite finishing the game with 10 men after midfielder Simon Zibo was sent off for unsporting behaviour, managed to hold the hosts to a 0-0- draw to secure passage to the final stage of the qualifiers.
Ghana have not qualified for the U-23 AFCON since the tournament was introduced in 2011.
For the Olympic Games, the Black Meteors have been absent since a first-round berth at the 2004 gathering in Athens, Greece.
The next Summer Olympics games will be staged in Tokyo, Japan.
