Ghana international Enoch Adu Kofi has played a pivotal role in Ekenäs IF securing promotion to the Finnish Premier League for the first time in 90 years.
The former Black Stars midfielder, predominantly based in Scandinavia throughout his playing career, joined Ekenäs IF in March 2023 after concluding his tenure with Swedish side Mjallby AIF last season.
As the club captain, the 33-year-old Ghanaian midfielder featured in 22 matches in the Finnish second-tier, contributing an assist as his team achieved historic promotion to the top-tier league.
Adu Kofi’s contract with Ekenäs IF is set to expire in December 2023. His football journey began with Ghanaian club Liberty Professionals before venturing to France with Nice. Subsequently, he made his mark in Scandinavia, representing Danish side FC Nordjaelland, Club Brugge, Stabæk, Malmö FF, AIK, and others.
Ekenäs IF marks the sixth club in Scandinavia for the Ghanaian international midfielder.
