UEFA Champions League MD6: African player’s performance on Tuesday night

Group A

Noussair Mazraoui was replaced by Konrad Laimer in Bayern Munich’s 1-0 triumph at Old Trafford in the 46th minute as Chupo Moting was an unused substitute for the Germans.

Sofyan Amrabat and Andrea Onana started and played the whole 90 minutes for Manchester United in their must-win match against Bayern Munich. Tunisian youngster Hannibal Mejbri replaced Alejandro Garnacho in the 75th minute for Manchester United.

Four Africans were on the matchday squads in the winner-takes-all fixture
between Copenhagen and Galatasaray. Tunisian forward Elias Achouri started and lasted 80 minutes for Copenhagen in their 1-0 win over Galatasaray.

The Ivorian forward Wilfred Zaha played 65 minutes and was replaced by Cedric Bakambu of DR Congo.

Hakim Ziyech of Morroco replaced Brazillian forward Tete in the 61st minute for the Turkish team.

Group B

RC Lens won 2-1 against Seville and 6 African players were on the home team’s squad list as Sevilla had one. Abdul Samed Salis of Ghana and Senegalese midfielder Nampalys Mendy started for Lens. Salis enjoyed the entire 90 minutes while Mendy was replaced by the Moroccan Neil Aynaoui in the 23rd minute due to injury.

Guinean forward Morgan Guilavogui replaced Elye Wahi in the 72nd minute for Lens.

Comoros goalkeeper Yannick Pandor and Malian defender Massadio Haidara were unused substitutes for the French side.

Moroccan striker Youssef En Nesyri played 90 minutes for Seville.

Egyptian midfielder Mohamed Elneny played 60 minutes for Arsenal in their 1-1 draw against PSV in the Netherlands.

Ismael Saibari enjoyed 77 minutes for PSV as PSV secured a 1-1 draw against Arsenal.

Group C

African Footballer of the Year, Victor Osimhen, scored Napoli’s second in their 2-0 win in Italy against Portuguese side Sporting Braga as he was replaced by Raspodri in the 69th minute. Cameroon midfielder Andre Zambo Aguissa played 90 minutes for the Italians.

Braga had two Africans in their squad as Congolese forward Simon Banza lasted the whole 90 minutes. Libyan international Al Musrati replaced Zalazar Martinez in the 68th minute.

Ivorian forward Datro Fogana was an unused substitute for Union Berlin in their 3-2 defeat against Real Madrid.

Group D

Malian midfielder Dorgeles Nene was replaced by his fellow Malian Sekou Koita in the 55th minute in Salzburg’s 3-1 defeat at home to Benfica. Mamady Diambou (Mali), Amankwa Forson (Ghana) and Karim Konate(Ivory Coast) did not taste a single minute for the Austrians.

Nigerian Umar Sadiq and Mali’s right-back Hamari Traore started for Real Sociedad in their goalless draw against Inter Milan. Umar Sadiq was replaced by Turrientes in the 61st minute as Traore enjoyed the entire 90 minutes.
