Veteran Ghanaian goalkeeper Brimah Razak has completed a return to Spanish club Linares, ending his spell without a club and embarking on a second stint with the Segunda Federación Group IV outfit at the age of 39.
The experienced shot-stopper rejoins Linares more than four years after his first spell with the club, bringing leadership and a wealth of experience as they prepare for the new season.
Razak previously joined Linares in November 2021 after several months as a free agent and featured for the club during the 2021/22 campaign before leaving in August 2022 to sign for fellow Spanish side CD Estepona FS.
After spending a season with Estepona, the former Black Stars goalkeeper became a free agent in July 2024 before returning to action with CD Calahorra in December of the same year.
He departed Calahorra in July 2025, leading to a period away from professional football. However, Razak has now decided to continue his playing career after accepting Linares’ offer to return to the club.
A Career Built Across Spain
Born in Accra, Razak has enjoyed a long and distinguished career, spending the majority of his professional life in Spanish football.
Standing 1.91 metres tall, the right-footed goalkeeper first moved to Spain in 2008, joining Poli Ejido from Portuguese club União Madeira.
He later represented Real Betis B and Real Betis before completing a move to CD Tenerife in 2011.
Following another spell as a free agent, Razak signed for CD Guadalajara in December 2012 before moving to Córdoba CF B.
In 2014, he joined CD Mirandés, before making another move to Córdoba CF a year later.
The experienced goalkeeper then ventured outside Europe in 2017, signing for South African giants Mamelodi Sundowns, where he added another chapter to his career before eventually returning to Spain in 2019.
His journey in Spanish football has since included spells with Linares, CD Estepona FS, and CD Calahorra, with his latest return seeing him reunite with a club he knows well.
Career Statistics
Throughout his professional career, Razak has represented clubs in Portugal, Spain and South Africa, making well over 250 senior appearances across league and cup competitions.
At international level, he earned over 10 caps for the Black Stars and was part of Ghana’s squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, where the team finished as runners-up.
His experience also includes representing Ghana at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations and featuring in several FIFA World Cup qualifying matches.
Linares will hope Razak’s vast experience, leadership qualities and familiarity with Spanish football will prove invaluable as they seek a successful campaign in the 2026/27 Segunda Federación season.
The move, completed on 11 August 2026, marks yet another chapter in the remarkable career of one of Ghana’s most experienced goalkeepers.
