Nigeria legend Daniel Amokachi has been captured in a video at the Monshood Abiola Sports Stadium making mockery of Ghana over a poor pitch ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers play-offs tie against his country.
Ghana are likely to move its venue for the first league of the two games.
This is due to the bad state of the Cape Coast Stadium which was initially approved for the game.
There have been uncertainty about the pitch in Cape Coast after it hosted the country’s 65th Independence Day parade.
Although serious works have begun on the field, it seems there might not be enough time to make the venue fully ready for the match.
The Monshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja is poised to host the Super Eagles decisive return leg match against rivals Ghana in the 2022 World Cup playoffs in March.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has already inspected the stadium and it is expected the arena will soon get the green light to host international matches like the World Cup playoffs.
The pitch of the stadium has been brought back to life courtesy of a private-public partnership initiated by sports minister Sunday Dare and it was there the Eagles trained before they jetted out to Cameroon for the AFCON.
In a video, Amokachi stated that: “Here is Manshud Abiola Sports Stadium. We are all ready. Look how beautiful the pitch is, look how beautiful the stadium is but some people are still looking for a venue, some people are under confusion. You know who am talking about.”

The Black Stars will first host their West African colleagues on 25th March, 2022, before they travel to Abuja later for the reverse leg.
