Nsoatreman FC’s coach, Maxwell Konadu, fell victim to an attack by Bofoakwa Tano fans, suffering a merciless beating at the Sunyani Coronation Park.
The incident occurred after Nsoatreman FC secured a draw against Bofoakwa Tano, as confirmed by the football club’s official announcement on Sunday, November 19, 2023.
Nsoatreman FC expressed that the assault occurred “for picking up a point in a draw game against the home team Bofoakwa Tano.” The draw placed Nsoatreman in the second spot on the league table, maintaining a position above Bofoakwa Tano, who had a strong start to the 2023/2024 season.
Maxwell Konadu wasn’t the sole target of the fans’ aggression in Sunyani. Referee Robert Musey and his assistants also reportedly faced attacks from Bofoakwa Tano supporters.
As of now, the Ghana Football Association has not issued a statement regarding the assault on Maxwell Konadu and the game officials.
