Athletic Bilbao attacker Inaki Williams has officially joined the Black Stars camp as they gear up for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The former Spain international arrived in Accra on Thursday and subsequently linked up with his Black Stars teammates in Kumasi on Friday morning.
Initially scheduled to arrive on Monday, Williams faced a delay due to illness, extending his stay in Spain. His inclusion is expected to bolster Ghana’s attacking options as they aim to clinch the elusive title after a 42-year wait.
While Williams has successfully joined the squad, Mohammed Kudus remains the only player yet to join the team, having delayed his return from England due to a minor injury.
The Black Stars are set to play a friendly against Namibia on January 8 before departing for Abidjan two days later.
In the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations, Ghana has been placed in Group B alongside Egypt, Cape Verde, and Mozambique.
