Respected sports broadcaster, Jeffery Asare, has announced that he intends to maintain his silence regarding the allegations leveled against him in connection with George Afriyie’s disqualification from the Ghana Football Association presidential elections.
It was reported that Asare had allegedly manipulated documents to endorse George Afriyie’s candidacy, which ultimately led to the GFA’s Vetting Committee disqualifying Afriyie. This revelation has caused a stir within the Ghanaian football community.
Asare has made it clear that he will refrain from commenting on any allegations circulating about him and will patiently await the statements of Leslie Kuuku Bartels, the Chief Executive Officer of Nkoranza Warriors, before he shares his perspective.
Speaking on Sompa TV, Asare stated, “After this issue came to light, people have said all sorts of things, and I find it amusing because that’s precisely why I’ve chosen not to speak. I will do so at the appropriate time. Leslie Kuuku Bartels will speak before I do, and I have my reasons for that.”
He went on to express his gratitude to those who have been critical of him, saying, “To all those speaking negatively about me, I thank them all. As for those who have called me and have never questioned my integrity, it can never be doubted by anyone. When the truth emerges, the dust will settle. You don’t have to waste your breath on what people say about you. I am a principled person, and after Leslie speaks and clarifies what led to this situation, I will address the matter.”
