Ghana’s Jordan Ayew has been named Crystal Palace’s Player of the Month for August following a strong start to the season.
Ayew had three assists for the club in the first month of the 2023/24 season and was awarded August Player of the Month.
Apart from setting up Odsonne Edouard’s game-winning goal against Sheffield United on the first day of the season, the forward also assisted Joachim Andersen’s equalise at Brentford and the Edouard goal that ignited an unbelievable comeback against Plymouth Argyle in the League Cup.
He earned 29.7% of the vote, beating out second-placed Andersen (20.4%), third-placed Ebere Eze (18.9%), and Jefferson Lerma (17.6%).

“It’s been a while – a very long time since I’ve gotten a trophy as well!” Ayew said, speaking to Palace TV. “I’d just like to thank everyone – the fans, the club and the staff – for supporting me since Roy [Hodgson] has come in.
“He’s been really good to me and putting me into positions where I can express myself and feel more comfortable. He gives me the freedom to express myself and as a player that’s all you can ask for.”
