Ghana forward Ernest Nuamah netted his third Ligue 1 goal of the season on Sunday evening in Olympique Lyon’s game against Paris Saint-Germain.

The Black Stars winger, started for Lyon in their Round 30 encounter of the French top-flight league.

Playing on the flanks, the winger impressed with his performance and netted Lyon’s only goal of the game in the 37th minute. Nuamah displayed his skill by maneuvering past defenders and unleashing a long-range shot into the bottom right corner, much to the amazement of the fans.

However, his goal proved to be only a consolation as PSG dominated the match to secure all three points. PSG took an early lead with a Nemanja Matic own goal in the 3rd minute, followed by Lucan Beraldi’s strike to make it 2-0 just three minutes later. Goncalo Ramos added a brace later on, sealing an emphatic 4-1 victory for the league leaders.

The reigning champions are at the top of the table with 66 points from 29 games, securing wins, drawing nine times, and suffering only one defeat. They hold an 11-point lead over second-placed Monaco.

With this defeat, Lyon experienced their first loss in seven games, currently sitting eighth on the table with aspirations of securing a European spot for the next season. They have amassed 41 points after 30 games, with 12 wins, five draws, and 13 defeats.

Despite the loss, Ernest Nuamah’s performance highlights his potential, as he now boasts three goals and two assists in the French top flight. The 20-year-old aims to maintain his form for the remainder of the season.

Lyon’s next challenge will be against Monaco, who are also vying for the title in the race against PSG.
