Ghanaian international Edmund Baidoo, registered his maiden Austrian Bundesliga goal for Red Bull Salzburg who posted a deserved 2-1 victory over Cashpoint SCR Altach on Saturday evening on their tenth matchday fixture.
Salzburg’s failure to convert chances in the first half and Altach seizing on their first shot left them in a spot of bother, until Karim Konate and Edmund Baidoo sealed a stunning late turnaround.
Altach had their first shot of the game on the hour mark, and certainly made it count! Schlager saved Gebauer’s shot only for Lukas Fridrikas to turn it in for 1-0 at the far post.
Altach’s opening goal really took the sting out of Red Bull Salzburg . The Austrian powerhouse got back into the swing of things with 20 minutes to play and pounced twice in the final stages. Dedic played a delicious cross and Konate sent in a bullet header that Stojanovic had no chance of stopping (84′)
Two minutes after that, a long ball over the defence found Konate again. This time the Ivorian knocked it across to Edmund Baidoo, who scored his first Austrian Bundesliga goal to give the Austrian giants a 2-1 home win.
The 2006-born talent during the Summer transfer window signed a long-term contract with Salzburg for a transfer fee of 3.3 million euros, with an additional 1.2 million euros add-ons
Salzburg will now switch their attention to their UEFA Champions League home match against Dinamo Zagreb on Wednesday 23 October at 21:00.
