Ghanaian forward Abdul-Aziz Yakubu scored twice against Portugal powerhouse FC Porto in the Liga Portugal on Sunday evening.
He scored the first and the third goal to secure a vital first win of the season for his team against the leaders of the league table.
Fabio Ronaldo sent a through pass to the striker who slotted home the opening goal of the match to put the hosts 1-0 up inside 22 minutes with a beautiful and calm finish into the bottom right corner.
Eleven minutes later, the striker swung in a pinpoint cross into the box which was converted by Pedro Amaral at the far post to give the home a healthy 2-0 advantage.
Amaral returned the favour with two minutes to the interval with a sweet cross which was headed home into the bottom left corner to make it 3-0 to Rio Ave against Porto.
Porto got a chance to find their way back into the game but Mehdi Taremi hit the post from the spot kick.
Deep into additional time period of the match, Antonia Martínez got a consolation goal for the Champions League side when he was set up by former Real Madrid defender, Pepe but it was a little too late to rescue a point for his team.
The 23-year-old predator finisher has three goals and one assist in three matches this season in the Liga Portugal.
