In La Liga on Saturday afternoon, Athletic Bilbao’s Ghanaian striker, Inaki Williams, scored twice to secure a 2-0 win against Real Sociedad.
In the early stages, Athletic struggled to control the game, failing to pass accurately or win aerial duels, which is typical of any derby match.
It was not until the 25th minute that the Bilbao fans were given something to cheer about when Nico Williams took a great shot, forcing Real Sociedad goalkeeper Alex Remiro to make a save after a mistake.
In the 33rd minute, Inaki Williams opened the scoring with a well-placed shot that saw Alex Remiro fly before he took advantage of Mikel Vesga’s pass with a corner kick. The goal was reviewed by VAR and was given as valid as there was no handball. The first half ended with Athletic leading and their fans filled with joy.
The visitors made some changes at the start of the second half.
In the 69th minute, Inaki Williams scored a great goal for the team, shaking San Mamés, after Raul Garcia’s fantastic work.
Inaki Williams was substituted in the 89th minute, while his brother was taken off in the 78th minute.
