Ghana’s fourth most capped player Jordan Ayew scored his 20th goal in Ghana colours on Tuesday evening in Accra.
He came from the bench to score Ghana’s third goal as they whipped The Lone Stars of Liberia 3-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
He is the son of former Ghana captain Abedi Pele and brother of fellow players André and Ibrahim Ayew. Born in Marseille, Ayew was raised in France and started his career with Lyon Duchère before joining the Marseille academy in 2006.
Ayew made his debut for the Ghana national team in 2010 and has earned 90 caps. He has played in two FIFA World Cups (2014 and 2022), as well as five Africa Cup of Nations (2012, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2021), helping them finish runners-up in 2015.
