Former Hearts of Oak board chairman, Harry Zakour, has expressed his doubts about the suitability of Vincent Odotei Sowah to serve on the club’s board.
Zakour, who was part of the Phobians’ board during Odotei Sowah’s previous stints with the club, believes that the former Member of Parliament lacks the right qualities to lead the team.
According to Zakour, Odotei Sowah’s track record with other clubs, including King Faisal and the National Patriotic Party (NPP), suggests that he may not be the right person to work with Hearts of Oak.
“Togbe is doing his best but he need the right people to work with. Odotei is not the right person. He’s been to King Faisal and we all saw what happen, Grusah paid him off. He came to Heart during my time we paid him off and he went to NPP, and he was again paid off. So I don’t know why Hearts of Oak is still keeping him”
Despite acknowledging that Odotei Sowah is not a bad person, Zakour believes that he may not have the necessary luck or fortune for the Phobians.
“I have nothing against him but he should go and stay somewhere. I’m not saying he is a bad person but maybe he has no luck for the club. Togbe need good people to work with and he is not giving chance to people to work with. I don’t know what’s wrong with Togbe. He is the best, look at the money he is spending. He even demolished the property we bought and rebuild it. He’s done well. Look at Pobiman, he’s really done well for the boys but he must sit up and get some people to run the club well” he added.
Zakour commended Odotei Sowah’s efforts in his current role, citing his ability to spend money and develop facilities like Pobiman. However, he urged him to surround himself with good people who can help run the club effectively.
