Ghana international Tariq Lamptey has expressed his excitement about working under Chris Hughton as the Black Stars’ head coach.
The 64-year-old was appointed the head coach of the national team with Otto Addo leaving the role after the World Cup in Qatar.
Tariq, who is yet to play under any of the two games Hughton has coached, says the former Brighton and Hove Albion boss is a ‘great guy’ on and off the pitch.
“I knew Chris from before. He is a fantastic guy. His coaching career speaks for him and we are all excited to work under him,” the 22-year-old told Joy Sports in an exclusive interview.
“Chris is a great guy and you can see that on and off the pitch.”
Ghana play Madagascar this month in their penultimate Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Tariq still missing due to injuries.
