Asante Kotoko defender Gilbalni O’Neil Ndongani Samba has expressed confidence in his team’s ability to secure victory against Hearts of Oak in the highly anticipated Super Clash on Sunday, December 15.
The Porcupine Warriors will host their arch-rivals at the Baba Yara Stadium in a Matchday 13 encounter of the ongoing Ghana Premier League season.
Speaking about the upcoming clash, Samba highlighted the team’s preparation and positive mindset.
“We are focused and ready to play the match on Sunday. It’s a big match, but we are not under pressure. It’s normal to feel pressure, but for us, it’s positive pressure,” the Congolese defender stated.
“For me, I always want to win. Just like the Democracy Cup, we will win on Sunday. I urge our fans to keep supporting the team, and I promise we will make it easy on Sunday.”
Samba, who delivered a standout performance to win the Man of the Match award when Kotoko defeated Hearts to claim the inaugural Democracy Cup in July 2024, will look to replicate his heroics this weekend.
The 24-year-old has been a solid presence at the back for Kotoko, featuring in nine league games this season.
The Super Clash, regarded as one of the biggest fixtures in Ghanaian football, is set to kick off at 3:00 PM GMT. Both teams will be eager to secure three points to boost their league standings and maintain momentum in the competition.
