Asante Kotoko skipper, Ismail Abdul Ganiu says he and his teammates are looking to regain the trust of the supporters by fighting for the Ghana Premier League title.
In another unconvincing performance in midweek, the Porcupine Warriors lost to city rivals, King Faisal, in the round of 64 of the MTN FA Cup at the Baba Yara Stadium.
The result has left fans of the club frustrated as it means they now have the league title to fight for as their only means of qualifying for Africa club competitions next season.
However, the club’s captain has assured fans they will do everything they can to ensure they do not end up without a trophy in the current campaign.
“We are not happy about our exit from the FA Cup. We will work harder and keenly contest for the GPL trophy,” Ganiu following the club’s elimination from the FA Cup.
Kotoko are joint league leaders of the Premier League with a game in hand against Accra Hearts of Oak.
