Hearts of Oak’s assistant coach, David Ocloo, expressed his delight and “incredible feeling” following their 1-0 victory over Akim Oda Kotoku Royals, thanks to Caleb Amankwah’s late goal.
The win came after a hard-fought 1-1 draw against Bibiani Gold Stars in the previous week’s President’s Cup.
Despite the relegation-threatened Kotoku Royals putting up a strong fight, Hearts of Oak appeared to be headed for a draw until Amankwah’s last-minute header secured the three points, sending the home fans into a frenzy.
Speaking after the game, Ocloo expressed his excitement, praising his team’s fighting spirit and resilience. He also acknowledged the tough challenge presented by the Kotoku Royals, who fought hard until the very end.
“I feel elated, I feel excited. I told you it was going to be a difficult game. They are down so they will come with a multiple effort and that is what they did but kudos to John. He has done a great job but we are the never say die lads,” he told StarTimes.
