Frimpong Manso, the coach of Bofoakwa Tano, has outlined his objective of constructing a resilient team for the forthcoming Ghana Premier League season, as the club marks its return to the top-flight league.
Having successfully maintained their Ghana Premier League status by triumphing in the Division Zone One League playoffs, where they secured victory over Eleven Wonders through a penalty shootout at the Accra Sports Stadium, Bofoakwa Tano has put an end to their 16-year absence from the top division.
Under the guidance of Frimpong Manso, the team from Sunyani has consistently showcased impressive performances, most recently reaching the finals of the ongoing Division One Super Cup.
Bofoakwa Tano secured their spot in the final by defeating Nations FC, setting up a highly anticipated showdown against Skyy FC.
In the aftermath of this game, Frimpong Manso expressed his satisfaction with the team’s display and offered insights into his aspirations for the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
“We are trying to build a formidable team before the start of the Ghana Premier League season”
Elaborating on their Super Cup journey, he explained, “In our first game in the Super Cup, we started with a team and tried to infuse some players in subsequent games. We knew our game against Nations FC was going to be difficult because they are a good side but I think my players were more determined, played well, and tried to keep the ball as much as possible. So for us, I think that was what we wanted to do,” – he told Kessben FM.
Bofoakwa Tano’s 2023/24 campaign will begin with an away fixture against Great Olympics.
