Asante Kotoko midfielder Richard Boadu has publicly shown solidarity with his teammate Richmond Lamptey who has been banned for a period of two and half years by the Ghana Football Association Disciplinary Committee.
Both Boadu and Lamptey joined the Porcupine Warriors in the same transfer window for the 2021/22 Ghana Premier League season.
“That Richmond Lamptey of Inter Allies FC is hereby banned for a period of 30 months in accordance with Article 34.5(d)(i) of the Ghana Premier League Regulations” states the ruling released on Monday 16th May 2022.
Lamptey was found guilty of the serious crime of match fixing during a Ghana Premier League Week 34 game between Ashanti Gold and Inter Allies last season.
Boadu took to Twitter on Tuesday to show support to his Kotoko teammate.
“We are with you maestro” the former Medeama midfielder wrote.
