Henry Asante Twum, the Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has underscored the significance of the Black Stars’ recent triumphs against Mali and the Central African Republic.
Twum emphasized that the value of these two victories cannot be overstated, particularly praising the return of head coach Otto Addo and the GFA’s confidence in his leadership.
Ghana’s resurgence in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign, marked by wins against Mali and CAR on matchdays three and four respectively, has propelled the team to second place in Group I, trailing only Comoros on goal difference.
“We believe so much in Otto Addo,” Twum expressed. “His ethics, discipline, respect, and football knowledge are commendable. When the opportunity arose to appoint a replacement for Chris Hughton, we listened to him, considered his philosophy and achievements, and unanimously decided to bring him back.”
Looking forward, the Black Stars are gearing up to resume their World Cup qualifiers next year, with fixtures against Chad and Madagascar on the horizon.
