Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has reaffirmed his side’s determination to win the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title, insisting the team remains fully focused despite recent dropped points.
The Yellow and Mauve saw their lead at the top of the table reduced to three points following a draw against Samartex 1996 in their Week 23 encounter last Sunday. Nevertheless, Medeama continue to lead the standings with 45 points, narrowly ahead of Bibiani Gold Stars, who sit second with 42 points after 23 matches.
As preparations intensify for their upcoming fixture against Swedru All Blacks, Tanko expressed strong confidence in his team’s title ambitions.
“We are still top of the table with a three-point advantage, so our concentration must remain on ourselves,” the former Black Stars assistant coach told the club’s media.
When asked about Medeama’s commitment to lifting the trophy, Tanko emphasized that everyone at the club shares the same objective.
“Absolutely — the players, board, and management are all committed. We believe strongly that by the end of the season, we will be crowned champions,” he stated.
Medeama previously won their historic first Ghana Premier League title two seasons ago under former head coach Augustine Evans Adotey, and Tanko believes the club has the mentality and unity required to repeat that success this campaign.
