Samartex 1996 FC’s eight consecutive wins at home were brought to an end by the resilient Nations FC on Monday morning in an intense clash at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena in Samraboi.
The Timber Giants lost 1-0 to Suleman Nafiu’s 43rd-minute strike.
Speaking after the game, Sameetex head coach Nurudeen Amadu made it clear that it was not their day as they were very unfortunate in terms of scoring.
“We did everything humanly possible but hard luck…” Sometimes you need luck to convert your chances,” said coach Nurudeen.
“We hit the crossbar 4 times. It means it was not our day,” concluded Samartex’s head coach.
Samartex SC was very unfortunate in the early morning fixture on Monday as they created enough chances but failed to score.
They hit the woodwork on four occasions as head coach Amadu Nurudeen recalled.
The game was postponed to Monday morning on Sunday due to heavy downpours.
Samartex lost 1-0 to Nations FC but remains on top of the league table.
