Mohammed Salisu, the Ghanaian defender, has expressed his heartfelt message to Southampton fans following the club’s official relegation from the Premier League after match week 36.

Southampton suffered a home defeat against Fulham on Saturday, which confirmed their relegation.

Despite sitting at the bottom of the league table with 24 points, Southampton needed a win to maintain their hopes of survival. However, goals from Carlos Vinicius and Aleksandar Mitrović secured the victory for Fulham.

Salisu, who joined Southampton from Real Valladolid in the summer of 2020, has been an important player for the team. However, injuries this season have limited his appearances.

Taking to his official Instagram account, Salisu posted a message to Southampton fans, expressing his gratitude for their support throughout the team’s ups and downs in the league.

As a result of their relegation, the former Real Valladolid defender will compete in the English Skybet Championship next season.

Southampton will conclude their campaign with matches against Brighton and Liverpool.
