The Red Devils’ manager is full of praise for Ghanaian speedster Kamaldeen Sulemana for his impressive performance in Southampton’s Premier League defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday night.
The Ghanaian international was a standout performer for the Saints, troubling United’s defense with his pace and skill throughout the match. Sulemana came close to scoring his first Premier League goal of the season but was denied by a brilliant save from United goalkeeper Andre Onana.
After enduring a challenging 18 months marked by injuries and inconsistent form, Sulemana appears to be regaining the form that led Southampton to make him their record signing.
Speaking after the game , Amorim said: “A very difficult game. They did a very good job, Southampton, creating spaces between the lines. Their number 20 [Sulemana] had a lot of space behind, we had a hard time stopping that player.”
Sulemana’s recent resurgence was highlighted by his goal and assist in Southampton’s FA Cup third-round victory over Swansea last weekend. He will be aiming to build on his momentum when the Saints travel to face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Southampton Manager was also pleased with the performance of Sulemana, having tormented the home team’s defence.
“Since I arrived here, he’s working well. I think he had quality. I don’t know why in these two years he didn’t express himself. Now he has to just continue playing like this, he’s really good,” Juric remarked after the game.
