Hearts of Oak midfielder Glid Jeordon Otanga is brimming with confidence about his team’s prospects in the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.
The Phobians faced a challenging campaign last season, finishing in 12th place in the Ghanaian top-flight standings.
The domestic top-flight is set to kick off this weekend, with Hearts of Oak scheduled to face Real Tamale United in an away fixture at the Aliu Mahama Stadium.
Following the conclusion of their preseason preparations, which included a convincing 2-0 victory over Ghana Premier League newcomers Nations FC at the Kpobiman Complex on Sunday, the Congolese midfielder has expressed optimism about his team’s ability to make a significant impact in the forthcoming season.
Otanga played a key role in the preseason game before being substituted in the second half, and he shared his thoughts: “It’s not about a player who wants to play, it’s all about team work. The team isn’t about one player. I might play and I won’t score but another player will come and score”
“It’s a collective work. I can go and another player will join the club. We have a good team and good staff this season and we work hard, so I think we will go far this season”
Hearts of Oak is determined to secure another Ghana Premier League title in the new season after facing a drought in the previous campaign.
