Ghana’s coach, Otto Addo, acknowledges the significant task ahead after his team’s winless streak in March friendlies.
The Black Stars suffered a 2-1 defeat against Nigeria and settled for a 2-2 draw against Uganda, marking a challenging start under Addo’s second stint with the national team.
Following the draw against Uganda, Addo expressed his observations, stating, “It was a good learning today, there were some good part. To play 2-2 against Uganda, we expected more even though a lot players were missing, I don’t have to say but still we could have done better, a bit unlucky with the two goals against us”
Reflecting on the team’s overall performance, Addo emphasized the need for improvement, particularly in creating more scoring opportunities and enhancing finishing under pressure.
Admitting the team’s recent struggles, Addo highlighted the ongoing rebuilding process, citing the need for patience and commitment to elevate the team’s performance.
“In all, the football we played was not good enough. We should have created more chances especially in the final third, so we have work on creating more chances, finishing must be better under pressure so we have a lot of work to do. To be honest, the last games in January were not good before I came so it’s a process” he added.
With crucial World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic looming, Addo and his team are focused on turning their fortunes around and securing vital points to climb the Group I standings.
