Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has praised his players and insisted that he is blessed with squad quality and depth after beating Accra Lions 1-0.
Forward Kalo Ouattara netted a 96th-minute goal for the Porcupine Warriors after climbing off the bench to take the place of Ugandan forward Steven Mukwala around the hour mark.
Monday evening’s victory marks the first for Prosper Ogum in the league since his return to the Kumasi-based club.
After seeing his substitutes deliver the results, the highly tactical manager believes the outcome is a good sign for his side.
“It tells you that we have quality. We have dept in the team. If you are on the bench your responsibility is to read and analyze the game so that when you go in, you can either equal the one who is coming out or do better than him,” he said in the post-match interview.
The victory has catapulted the 24-time champions from the basement of the table to 9th place.
