Angolan defender, Kialonda Gaspar revealed that the team’s success lies in the fact that they treat each other as family in the Angolan national team.
This was after the defender was voted TotalEnergies Man of the Match in their final Group D match that saw them win 2-0 and subsequently book a place in the round of 16 of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cote d’Ivoire 2023 in a match played on Tuesday at the Charles Konan Bani Stadium, Yamoussoukro.
“We in the national team live as one family and that is what makes us solid on the field. My goal remains to help the national team, and we have the ability to advance. We will continue preparing for the rest of the competition”, said Gaspar.
Commenting on their match against Burkina Faso, who also advance as second place finishers, the defender hailed his team’s tactical awareness against a good Burkina Faso side.
“We were good on the field against Burkina Faso. The same goes for the tactical aspect. We played well as a group during the match, and we were the best on the field. I think it is important to qualify. This is for us and the millions of Angolans back home”, he concluded.
