Aduana FC Chief Executive Officer Collins Atta Poku has urged Ghanaian football clubs to place greater emphasis on marketing their players and strengthening club branding, describing it as a crucial step toward attracting international opportunities.
Speaking in an interview with Luv FM, Atta Poku stressed the importance of building comprehensive player profiles, including updated photographs, videos, and accessible online information, to enable scouts and potential buyers to conduct proper assessments.
“We can’t be projecting ourselves at the expense of the club,” he stated.
“We must build the capacity of the players.”
Reflecting on his previous role in management, Atta Poku highlighted the challenges posed by poor player visibility online.
“A year ago, if you Googled players of Aduana FC, you wouldn’t find current pictures, and in some cases, you wouldn’t find the players at all. Someone who goes on Transfermarkt to look for a player will then try to find pictures and videos. Even after you provide videos, they will still do their own due diligence. How would they find it? You have to help them find it, and that means taking it seriously,” he explained.
The Aduana FC CEO also cautioned club officials against excessive personal publicity, warning that it can negatively affect the club’s image and long-term objectives.
As part of efforts to improve player exposure, Atta Poku announced plans for a media interaction session at the Prempeh College School Park, where journalists, bloggers, and social media influencers will be invited to engage with the players and help showcase their profiles to a wider audience.
The initiative forms part of Aduana FC’s broader strategy to enhance visibility, improve player marketability, and position the club more competitively within the Ghanaian and international football landscape.
