Skyy FC coach Christian Lokko criticized Dreams FC’s performance in their FA Cup semifinal clash on Saturday, expressing his belief that the Premier Division side did not meet expectations.
Dreams FC secured a spot in the FA Cup final for the first time by defeating Skyy FC 2-1 in a match where the Division One side had more possession.
Sylvester Simba opened the scoring early for Dreams, and Ali Huzaif extended their lead before halftime. Skyy FC managed to pull one back in the second half but failed to find the equalizer.
Despite the loss, Lokko expressed pride in his team’s performance and argued that they outperformed their Premier Division opponents.
“If you truly appreciate the beauty of football, we showcased it today,” he told StarTimes.
“Although we are in Division One and they are in the Premier Division, an observer unaware of the teams’ status would assume we were the Premier side. We played superior football. We have nothing to be ashamed of.”
