‘We played very badly in the first half’ – Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer reacts to Hamburger defeat

The Ghanaian forward scored but Hamburg SV as suffered a stunning 3-2 defeat at home to FC Magdeburg in the German 2. Bundesliga match-day 13 fixture Sunday 23rd October, 2022.

Mohamed El Hankouri shot the visitors ahead after the just 11 minutes after kickoff before Barış Atik extended the lead to 2-0 in the 51st minute.

Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer, scored seven minutes later to pull one back for the hosts but Julian Rieckmann scored to give Magdeburg a 1-3 lead.

However, hit the back of the net after 90+3 to reduce the home side’s deficit to 2-3.

“We have to blame ourselves for the defeat. We played very badly in the first half. In the end we had chances to score, but no luck. We have to work that out again now.” Yeboah said in an interview after the match.
