Port City FC head coach Christopher Ennin has admitted that his team struggled in their defeat to Hearts of Oak in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
The newly-promoted side locked horns with the Phobians at the University of Ghana Stadium, hoping to build on their win against Bechem United from the previous outing.
Unfortunately, the team suffered a 1-0 defeat to Hearts of Oak, with Frank Duku netting the decisive goal to earn all three points for the Phobians.
Assessing the performance of his team in his post-match interview, Christopher Ennin accepted the result, arguing that Port City FC struggled in the first half.
He has assured supporters that the team will take lessons from the defeat and correct their mistakes ahead of upcoming matches,
“As you can see, we struggled a little bit in the first half, but we came back in the second half, and you could see how the game was flowing. Unfortunately, as you know, football is about draw, win or lose [and today we lost]. So, I think we need to go back and work on our mistakes,” Ennin shared.
Despite the defeat, Port City FC remain among the top four sides, with Hearts of Oak climbing to second on the league table after the win.
