Asante Kotoko youngster Serge Eric Zeze, says his outfit really wanted to beat their arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in the Betpawa Premier League match day two clash on Sunday.
The Porcupine Warriors began their league campaign with points shared following a 1-1 result against Hearts of Oak in Kumasi on Sunday.
A second-half strike from defender Yusif Mubarik gave Kotoko the advantage but Caleb Amankwah’s header cancelled the advantage.
The first half was primarily dry but Kotoko showed much promise throughout, creating chances through Isaac Oppong and Amankona.
In the second half, the Porcupine Warriors pushed further and were rewarded just before the hour mark. A well-worked free-kick was pushed out by Richmond Ayi which fell to the feet of Yussif Mubarik and he made no mistake.
“We wanted the 3 points as our energy showed today but you all know how it ended! In all thanks for the total support today, our great supporters. We leave on Wednesday! Fabulous Asante Kotoko!” He wrote on Twitter after the match.

All hope seemed lost for Hearts but Caleb Amankwah got on the end of a free kick to cancel Kotoko’s advantage.
Hearts of Oak have now failed to win any of their first three GPL games this season whilst Kotoko have won their first league match of the campaign.
