Asante Kotoko Head Coach Samuel Paa Kwesi Fabin has blamed his side’s defeat to Ashantigold to gullibility on the part of his charges.
The former Ghana U17 Coach recorded his second defeat of the season to the league leaders and says he is disappointed with the results insisting his side were wasteful in front of goal.
A second half goal each from defender Abdul Samed Ibrahim and forward Shafiu Mumuni scored for Ashantigold ensured the miners beat the porcupine warriors in the regional derby clash.
A disappointed Paa Kwesi Fabin says his players were naive and could not take their chances.
“I’m disappointed because we had the chances to kill the game,” he said after the game. “But we flopped our lines,” said Fabian.
“It was naivety on our part. The first goal for instance, the marking was not good because we had assigned people to every single player according to their heights and then the guy was allowed a free header at the far post.”
“The second goal for example somebody fall down and my boys were standing thinking the referee will whistle and they went on to score.”
Kotoko are now sixth on the table and will next host Ebusua Dwarfs at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
