Alexander Ababio, the CEO of Bofoakwa Tano, has discussed the club’s successful promotion to Ghana’s top-flight league after a 16-year absence.
Ababio revealed plans to strengthen the squad ahead of the upcoming 2023/24 season, as the Sunyani-based team prepares for their return to the premier league.
Bofoakwa Tano secured their place in the prestigious league after a thrilling penalty shootout victory of 7-6 against Eleven Wonders at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The club’s qualification represents a significant milestone, considering their relegation during the 2006/2007 campaign.
Expressing his joy at the achievement, the CEO outlined the team’s objectives for the forthcoming season in an interview with Citi Sports.
“Now, we need to focus on recruitment for the new season, aiming to bring in around five or six players,” Ababio explained.
“We also need to strengthen our technical team by hiring a new coach, as the current coach holds a license B which restricts coaching in the premier league.”
“With these necessary changes, I believe we can thrive in the Ghana Premier League and maintain our status,” he added.
Bofoakwa Tano is eager to make a strong impact as they prepare for their return to the top-flight league.
