The Communications director of the Ghana football association, Henry Asante Twum has said that all Ghana premier league matches will be taken off every betting site henceforth.
Speaking in an interview with Subanpa FM, he indicated that the FA will be taking this action to curb match fixing in the Ghana Premier League and any betting company that goes contrary to that shall be dealt with.
“We will take all Ghana Premier League matches off every betting site”Any betting company who goes contrary to our rules without coming to meet the FA for approval will be sued”, Henry Asante-Twum told Subanpa FM 96.7.
The Ghana football association on Wednesday 3rd August 2022 announced betPawa, one of Ghana’s leading online sports betting companies, as the official headline sponsor of the Ghana Premier League.
The announcement was made at a special signing ceremony held at the Headquarters of the Ghana Football Association in Accra.
The 2022/23 betPawa Premier League is scheduled to be launched on 2nd September 2022 with the league kicking off on the weekend of 9th to the 12th September 2022.
